Consent Form
We are the Social Value Decision Making lab, led by Rei Akaishi and hosted at the RIKEN Center for Brain Science, in Japan. We are interested in how humans differ with large language models (LLMs) such as ChatGPT in making moral decisions.
If you decide to participate in this game, you will be reading sets of dialogues between a cosmic being and a space traveler. The cosmic being was telling stories to the space traveler, and at the end of the dialogue, you will have to pick one option from two choices to complete the story as the cosmic being.
The data coming from your choices will remain anonymous and it will not be connected to your identity. The anonymous data we collect in the game will be analyzed and used to write a scientific article. In addition, the choice data will be made public (again, without your identity being disclosed) so the scientific community can make use of it. This responds to the growing practice of making all data collected with public funds available to the society.
If you want, you can opt out of the game at any time, and you do not need to provide a reason for doing so.
If you have any doubt before or after participating, or if you are interested in our study and want to know more, do not hesitate to contact us at the address below.
